There's a very true popular saying that states that you should always learn from other people's blunders - as you usually won't live long enough to make all the errors yourself! I've had a nasty experience with a particular cleaning company and I hope that this write-up will be able to prevent other people from going through the same encounter.
It all happened about 2 years ago when my husband and I found a beautiful little house to rent. The home was just the right size, situated in a very secure area and had a big enough back garden for our dog and a small heated swimming pool in addition to that. The only drawback was that the previous tenants had a whole pack of canines as pets and these fuzzy creatures were permanently in the house, so you can just imagine the state the carpeting and floors were in!
But no worries, we would not let a horrible odor and a couple of dog hairs get us [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] down so I grabbed [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] the neighborhood [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] paper, turned to the classifieds section and dialed the number of the first cleaning company listed. The lady on the other side of the line was quite helpful and we arranged to have 2 carpets and two floor surfaces cleaned the very next day.
The two guys arrived bright and early the next morning and I showed them which rooms and carpets to clean up. I then realized that I had no cash on me and told them to continue with the job, I'll be back in a few minutes and I raced back to gas station to draw money.
When I returned about 20 minutes later, [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] I got a big surprise! The 2 males from the cleaning company evidently decided that the entire home needed cleaning, and not just the tiles and carpets I directed them to clean. Furthermore, I have asked for them to use as little water as possible, as I [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] did [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] not have time to [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] wait for the carpets [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] to dry for [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] days as the moving van was booked for the following morning. Low and behold, [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] the entire house was drenched! Each and every carpet in every room of the house had been washed!
Obviously I was not very happy with this situation as I clearly showed them which carpets and tiles to [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] clean and they just chose to pay [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] no attention to my instructions. On top of that all, the initial quotation that I've received for 2 carpets and 2 floors were now null and void and I was served with an invoice for more than 4 times what I was quoted for!
I instantly phoned the cleaning company to object and was advised that it was my responsibility [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] to watch the [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] cleaning staff and that I'd better make certain I pay the complete invoice! [link widoczny dla zalogowanych]
The moral of the story is - don't use the very first cleaning company you find in the classified listings section. Just because the business's name starts with an A, does not mean you will receive A-class service!
